December Hiking

Sarath Akkineni

Two groups from Cub Scouts from Pack 1 did some safe outdoor adventuring! Though normally the Pack focuses on indoor activities in winter, this year are venturing forth and exploring nature in spite of the colder weather. To meet local restriction on group size and to ensure safe social distancing, the Lions, Tigers, and Wolves hiked a 2-mile loop around Puffer’s Pond at the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge, while the Bears and Webelos explored the trails at the Acton Arboretum. It was great to see so many scouts choose to get outside. We hope to have Pack hikes in January and February as well, condition permitting.
