Mike Balulescu organized our first hike of 2021, kickstarting our Hike Club by banking 2.2 miles. On January 9 the Bears and Webelos scouts hiked the loop around October Farm Riverfront conversation land in Concord. It was a nice chilly and sunny day and the scouts had a lot of fun exploring the historic artifacts (a canoe house and cabin foundations).

The scouts had a opportunity to have a Boy Scout volunteer provide instruction on "Winter Hiking Readiness - What to pack when you hike in winter?". This is an important part of the scouting experience where the scouts learnt about different types of gear, clothing, food, and medical supplies required for a safe hiking experience.

We look forward to having all out scouts participate in the Hike Club and enjoy the outdoors. See you all in the next hike at the Long Lake Park!!
