Rockets!

Our second Pack Meeting of the Cub Scout year was explosive! We again welcomed new families into our Pack, discussed upcoming events, and moved swiftly into the main event … Rockets! We talked about what rockets are and what they are used for. We learned why it so hard to get into space (gravity) and how fast you need to travel to get there. Then we moved outside for a rocket engine demonstration to help the scouts understand what will happen when then launch their own model rockets in a couple weeks. A telescope provided by the Acton Municipal Library and a space-themed game with Cub Scouts vs. Parents (it was a tie …) helped round out our fun.
